Job description - General responsibility:
Roles of Tech Specialist Country is vital and important along the work process and with the scope of activities by developing and providing technical standard for demo plots establishment, extension materials and trainings. In order to succeed, the quality tech standard, protocol, guidance and materials are most needed of the project activities
- She/he will support practical training and trials in a specific location set up as a learning center for staff, and for farmers and other interested stakeholders.
- She/he will assist field staff on technical issues, and training (observation and feedback).
- She/he will contribute to data management system regarding demo plots, training and field days.
- She/he will participate in meetings and visits as per Technical Support Hub planning.
Job and function:
- Training and follow-up: provide training and follow-up support to existing and new YBTS staff, as well as partner organizations
- Support project management and implementation team: assist in establishing and guiding demonstrations and training sessions by providing technical standards and guidelines that must be followed by field staff and key farmers (during demos, training, and Field Farm Days), ensuring quality of demonstrations and supporting the technical knowledge needs of the field team.
- Act as the Technical Support Hub PIC in Indonesia for East West Seed Knowledge Transfer: Liaise with organizations providing technical services and knowledge, coordinate with the Tech Hub group, and provide technical and communication support
- Support Data Management System and Digital Media Communication: In coordination with Management, Supervisors, Team Leaders, Digital & Media Team, and Data team, review information or inquiries from the HQ, archive documents, reports, photos, provide and ensure quality control of technical content on social media group and radio, control technical information posted and broadcasted.
- Reporting: The Tech Specialist Country will report to the KT manager and work in coordination with Management, Data Team, Digital Team, and Team leaders
Skills and requirement:
- Hold a master's degree (S2) in agriculture or related / relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with and supporting farmers
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in conducting training, extension, and support for farmers
- Ability to communicate with all levels, especially farmers
- Excellent technical competence in all aspects of crop management
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Good facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to transfer GAP
- Able to coordinate with input dealers, collectors, and relevant partners
- Ability to solve problems (analytical thinking), share relevant information and solutions
- Independent thinking, good and quick decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
- Proficient in using computers/technology
